Housing Coalition
Vet House, located in Ballston Spa, New York is a transitional housing program for 14 homeless male veterans.
Staff, all former veterans and some former residents, provide case management and support services to help the
veterans develop skills, secure employment or benefits to transition to independent living.
Veterans are referred to the Stratton VA for health services, mental health treatment, substance abuse and
alcohol dependence and other services provided by the VA.
Vet Help has partnered with many other agencies to provide each veteran with assistance in the areas of
employment, education, job training and any other issue the veteran needs assistance with.
Once ready for independent living, assistance is given with securing an apartment.
Support services continue to help the veteran maintain housing.
Guardian House, is just one of two supportive housing programs for homeless female veterans in New York State.
Homeless women veterans face the same issues as the male veterans. In addition, a large
percentage are living with the traumatic experience of Military Sexual Trauma.
Prioritizing the need for health care, mental health treatment and addiction services Vet Help
partners with the Stratton VA and other community partners.
With staff support the ladies work on their issues and when ready transition to a productive, independent life in our community.
Located in the Town of Wilton, is our 12 units of permanent apartments for veterans and veterans and their families.
Support Services are provided to help these veterans maintain their housing and live a productive life in the community.
This unique program offers support and temporary financial assistance to veterans and their families.
The goal of the program is to assist veterans to obtain and maintain permanent housing. Being homeless or at risk for homelessness is one of the most difficult things a person can face.Lacking the security of knowing where you will sleep at night, having no place to keep your belongings, and not having the ability to care for your person and family can lead to stress, anger, a sense of shame, depression, and physical discomfort.
Through this program we are able to work with landlords to prevent eviction. We work with Utility Companies to prevent shut off. Serving seven counties, this program assists over 150 veterans a year.
After reuniting the family, support services are provided to ensure the veteran maintains their housing and receives alll the services needed to maintain a productive life.
Saratoga Veterans Apartments
The Saratoga Veterans Apartment is permanent housing for homeless veterans.
There are sixteen units of housing for veterans and veterans with families. These apartments are currently available in the County of Saratoga.
Support Services will be provided to assist these veterans maintain their housing while developing skills to return to independent living successfully, securely, safely and with dignity.
This two family house provides stability to homeless, disabled veterans and their families.
